Toronto’s Black Diamond Ball 2026 brings star power, fine art, and fundraising together for a night of Black excellence and cultural celebration.
TORONTO, ON — The 11th Annual RBC Black Diamond Ball, a signature gala honouring Black excellence in Canada, returns with a dazzling new chapter on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 6:30 PM to midnight. For the first time, the event will be hosted at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex at Exhibition Place, providing an iconic backdrop for one of Toronto’s premier Black History Month celebrations.
Organized by the Toronto-based non-profit ArtXperiential Projects, the gala blends culture, art, community leadership, and philanthropy into an unforgettable black-tie evening. This year’s theme, “Level Up,” calls on individuals and communities to elevate through mentorship, innovation, and shared strength.
“At the heart of the Ball is impact,” said Shawn Cuffie, founder of the RBC Black Diamond Ball. “When we come together, we are stronger, and that is what this night represents.”
The 2026 event will also support hurricane relief efforts in Jamaica, with proceeds directed to the Alliance of Jamaican Alumni Associations (AJAA) to assist with rebuilding and renovating schools impacted by the recent storm.
Spotlighting Black Artistry and Community Leadership
Headlining the evening is JUNO Award-winning artist JRDN, who will deliver a live performance fusing fan favourites with new material. The gala will be hosted by singer, actor, and JUNO winner Sean Jones, who will guide guests through a high-energy night of tributes, performances, and fundraising.
In a special tribute, the gala will honour the late Patrick Parson, founder of Ballet Creole, whose visionary contributions to Black dance and cultural expression left a lasting legacy in Canada.
Another standout feature is The Secret Artwork Auction, spotlighting authenticated Picasso replica works from the Picasso Estate Collection. Proceeds from the auction will fund community-based arts initiatives supported by ArtXperiential Projects.
The Vocalist Competition Shines a Spotlight on Rising Talent
On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the Ball’s annual artist development showcase, The Vocalist, took place. Hosted by Hollywood Jade—known for judging Canada’s Drag Race and winning The Traitors—the competition offered over $17,000 in cash prizes. The top three finalists will also perform at the gala, continuing the Ball’s strong commitment to supporting the next generation of Black Canadian performers.
“We’re proud to champion Black businesses and celebrate artistic excellence,” said Roger Cogle, RBC Vice President of Commercial Financial Services. “The RBC Black Diamond Ball is not just a celebration, but a platform that helps drive community resilience and growth.”
