Journey to Kingston Florida Showcase Celebrates Jamaica’s Reggae and Dancehall Legacy
KINGSTON, JAMAICA – Jamaica’s reggae and dancehall culture is set to take centre stage internationally as Journey to Kingston brings an all-star showcase of Caribbean music to the Miramar Cultural Center in Florida on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
The event promises a large-scale celebration of Jamaican culture through live performances, orchestral collaborations, DJs, and a red-carpet experience designed to immerse audiences in the sounds and energy of the island.
Spragga Benz Celebration Headlines Event
Leading the showcase is veteran dancehall icon Spragga Benz, whose career has spanned more than three decades and helped shape the evolution of modern dancehall music.
Organizers described the performance as an “earth-strong celebration” of the artist’s contribution to Jamaican music and culture. Since emerging in the early 1990s, Spragga Benz has built a catalogue known for blending lyrical authenticity, social commentary, and storytelling rooted in Jamaican life.
Beyond music, his influence has extended into fashion, film, and the international growth of dancehall culture.
Reggae and Dancehall Heavyweights Join the Line-Up
Journey to Kingston will also feature performances from a wide range of Caribbean artists, including:

- Stephen Marley
- Damian Marley
- Ky-Mani Marley
- Tanya Stephens

- Pressure Busspipe
- Kevin Lyttle

The event will also include a showcase from Spragga Benz’s Red Square collective.
Live Orchestra and DJ Showcase
A special live performance from Bigg D & The Florida Memorial University Orchestra will fuse orchestral arrangements with reggae and dancehall rhythms, adding a unique musical dimension to the event.
Entertainment throughout the evening will also feature DJs including:

- DJ Bambino
- Foota Hype
- Jazzy T
- Timmy HMV
Hosting duties will be handled by Papa Keith.
Bringing Jamaican Culture to an International Audience
Presented by the Miramar Cultural Center and hosted by Commissioner Maxwell B. Chambers, the event aims to highlight Jamaica’s enduring influence on global music and cultural exchange.
Organizers say Journey to Kingston is intended to be more than a concert, positioning the event as a full cultural experience showcasing the sights, sounds, and identity of Jamaica abroad.
The Miramar Cultural Center is located at 2400 Civic Center Place in Miramar, Florida. Tickets range from $75 to $85, while VIP Meet and Greet packages are priced at $150.
