Kenya–Canada Trade Mission Brings More Than 100 Delegates Together to Build Business Links

Written by on September 18, 2026

Kenya Canada Trade Mission 2026 connected Kenyan business and government representatives with Canadian partners across trade, investment and key economic sectors.

TORONTO, ON  — More than 100 Kenyan business and government delegates took part in a Kenya–Canada Trade Mission this month, bringing together participants in Toronto and Ottawa to pursue partnerships, investment, market access and commercial opportunities.

The September 5–11 mission was convened by the Canadian Black Chamber of Commerce, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Nexus Global Strategies, with support from the High Commission of the Republic of Kenya in Ottawa.

Although the week-long mission has concluded, the initiative was structured around building longer-term commercial connections between businesses and institutions in both countries.

Diaspora Trade and Investment

The mission opened in Toronto on September 5 with a Diaspora Trade and Investment Forum at Metro Hall.

The public forum included sector panels, a showcase of Kenyan companies, a diaspora investment session and one-to-one business matchmaking. Organizers also used the gathering to launch the Kenya–Canada Business Network.

The program was followed by sector-focused working sessions at York Civic Centre on September 8 and 9.

Key Sectors in Focus

The Toronto working sessions covered health technology and life sciences; agriculture, cold chain and food logistics; mining and critical minerals; and aviation, logistics and renewable energy.

The mission then moved to Ottawa for institutional engagements with federal departments, trade and export organizations and financing institutions.

Those discussions were designed around market access, procurement and financing.

Building Canada–Africa Commercial Connections

The mission placed diaspora participation alongside business-to-business and business-to-government engagement, reflecting the role African and Black Canadian business networks can play in strengthening commercial relationships between Canada and African markets.

The Canadian Black Chamber of Commerce describes its work as supporting a Black business renaissance in Canada. The Kenya mission added an international trade dimension to that mandate by connecting Canadian businesses and institutions with a large visiting delegation from Kenya.
