Asia Alexus Alexander Named Pinnacle Professional of the Year in Marketing Education

Southern University marketing instructor Asia Alexus Alexander is recognized for an experiential approach connecting classroom learning with real-world marketing practice

BATON ROUGE, La. — Asia Alexus Alexander, a marketing instructor at Southern University and A&M College, has been acknowledged by The Inner Circle as a Pinnacle Professional of the Year for her contributions to marketing education.

Alexander’s teaching approach incorporates live case studies, industry guest speakers and analytics-driven projects designed to mirror the pace and structure of modern marketing agencies.

Bringing Real-World Marketing Into the Classroom

Alexander uses experiential learning to expose students to practical marketing challenges while developing skills in strategy, analytics and communication.

She also serves as a faculty advisor for Minorities in Sports and the Women Business Alliance in Southern University’s College of Business.

From Industry Experience to Higher Education

Alexander earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Southern University in 2022 and a Master of Science in marketing from East Texas A&M University in 2024. She is pursuing a PhD in business administration with a concentration in marketing at the University of South Alabama, with plans to complete the degree in 2028.

Before moving into academia, she worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana and The Walt Disney Studios, with experience in survey design, data analysis and content strategy.

Recognition for Research and Presentation

Alexander’s professional and academic work includes presentations at conferences organized by the Association of Marketing Theory & Practice, the Marketing Management Association and the International Society of Marketing.

Her 2026 recognitions include Best Presentation in Session at the Gulf South Business Research Conference and an honorable mention from the Marketing Management Association for its 2026 Best Paper Award.

Looking Ahead

Alexander plans to complete her doctoral studies and expand her work as a business and higher education consultant and writer.

She is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated and continues to mentor students as part of her work in higher education.
