Young Thug Launches Primal to Put Creator Ownership at Centre of New Ventures

Written by on October 1, 2026

Young Thug Primal is a new holding company designed to help artists, athletes and creators build businesses in which talent retains equity and participates in long-term value.

Young Thug is expanding his business portfolio with Primal, a new holding company built around giving artists, athletes and other creators ownership in the businesses they help develop.

The Atlanta rapper announced the venture this week with a model that moves beyond conventional celebrity endorsement deals. Primal plans to create intellectual property, acquire and invest in existing ventures and help scale businesses into independent companies.

Ownership Over Endorsements

The central idea is that participating talent should hold equity rather than simply receive a fee for attaching a name or audience to a product.

Young Thug described the company as an effort to develop a new generation of founders and emphasized ownership as the foundation of the model.

From SP5DER to a Broader Business Platform

The venture builds on Young Thug’s experience with SP5DER, the Atlanta-founded fashion brand that developed into an international streetwear business.

Primal broadens that entrepreneurial approach beyond fashion, with plans to operate across areas including media, technology and other creator-led businesses.

For hip hop, the launch fits a longer history of artists moving from endorsement relationships into ownership, investment and company-building. Primal’s test will be how that philosophy translates into actual ventures and equity structures as the company develops.
