“Wet Sugar” reunites Richie Stephens and Steven ‘Lenky’ Marsden on a modern revival of the iconic Diwali Riddim

Veteran Jamaican entertainer Richie Stephens has reunited with acclaimed producer Steven ‘Lenky’ Marsden for the release of their new single and music video, “Wet Sugar.”

Released on April 24, 2026, the collaboration reconnects two influential figures in reggae and dancehall whose work helped shape the sound of the genre during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The track revisits the legendary Diwali Riddim, originally created by Marsden in 2002. The riddim became one of dancehall’s most recognizable productions worldwide, powering international hits including Get Busy by Sean Paul and No Letting Go by Wayne Wonder.

For “Wet Sugar,” Marsden modernizes the classic riddim with updated production elements while maintaining the rhythmic identity that made the original Diwali sound a defining force in global dancehall music.

Stephens delivers a performance centered around mature and sensual themes, blending melodic delivery with contemporary dancehall energy. The release is aimed at longtime reggae and dancehall fans while also introducing younger listeners to the enduring influence of the Diwali era.

The collaboration also revisits a musical relationship that dates back nearly three decades. Stephens and Marsden previously worked together on the 1996 dancehall track “Maniac,” featuring Bounty Killer.

An official music video for “Wet Sugar” was released alongside the single and is available through Richie Stephens’ official YouTube channel. The song is also streaming across major digital music platforms.

The release arrives at a time when classic dancehall riddims continue to experience renewed global interest, with artists and producers revisiting influential sounds that helped establish Jamaican music on the international stage.
