Medhane Alem Mikey General Album Focuses on Rastafarian Faith and Conscious Reggae

Kingston, Jamaica — Veteran reggae artist Mikey General has officially released his new album, Medhane Alem, continuing his longstanding tradition of spiritually driven reggae music rooted in Rastafarian teachings and conscious themes.

The album became available worldwide on May 5, 2026, through Zojak, under Mikey General’s independent imprint, Qabalah First Music. The project is now streaming on all major digital platforms.

A Spiritually Focused Reggae Project

The title “Medhane Alem,” translated as “Saviour of the World,” references YESUS KRISTOS and reflects the deeply spiritual direction of the album.

Known throughout his career for delivering conscious reggae messages, Mikey General uses the project to explore themes of:

• consciousness
• Rastafarian livity

The album combines newly recorded songs with previously released material, maintaining the artist’s signature roots reggae sound while reinforcing his commitment to faith-based music.

Production on the album was primarily handled by Michael Taylor (Mikey General) and Yared Taylor.
