Surgix Jamaica Healthcare Innovation Discussed in High-Level Meeting with PM Holness
KINGSTON, JAMAICA — Prime Minister Andrew Holness says innovation and private sector investment will continue to play a critical role in strengthening Jamaica’s healthcare system following discussions with Dr. Bohan, Chief Executive Officer of Surgix Jamaica Ltd.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Holness said the meeting focused on expanding access to modern healthcare technologies and positioning Jamaica as a regional hub for medical innovation and services.
“This afternoon, I met with Dr. Bohan, CEO of Surgix Jamaica Ltd., to discuss the important role of innovation and private sector investment in strengthening Jamaica’s healthcare system,” Holness stated.
Expanding Medical Technology and Surgical Solutions
According to the Prime Minister, Surgix Jamaica Ltd. has been contributing to the advancement of medical technology and surgical solutions in Jamaica, helping to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
The discussions reportedly explored opportunities for:
- Growth within Jamaica’s medical sector
- Increased access to modern healthcare solutions
- Greater regional leadership in healthcare innovation
Holness emphasized the importance of partnerships between government and private enterprise in modernizing the country’s healthcare infrastructure.

The Prime Minister also outlined the government’s broader vision of making Jamaica a regional centre for healthcare services and medical innovation.
“Our discussions focused on opportunities for growth in the medical sector… and positioning Jamaica as a hub for medical innovation and services within the region,” he said.
