Beenie Man and Rorey Baker Bring Two Versions of “Brawdah” to Dancehall
Written by Cat Radio UK on October 2, 2026
Dancehall icon Beenie Man has teamed with veteran producer and engineer Rorey Baker for “Brawdah,” a high-energy single released through Baker’s One Pop Music imprint.
Issued August 21, 2026, the release gives listeners two versions of the track: the original “Brawdah” and “Brawdah (Dancehall Fix).”
A Track Built for the Dance
Produced by Baker and Tiuke Taumoepeau, “Brawdah” is aimed squarely at dancehall and party settings.
The title comes from Jamaican patois and plays on the word “broader,” while the song centres on women with fit, well-toned physiques.
The track has received support from dancehall selectors in Jamaica and international markets since its release.
Rorey Baker Brings Veteran Production Experience
The single pairs Beenie Man’s established dancehall presence with a producer whose career stretches across several eras of Jamaican music.
Baker’s credits include work on Chaka Demus & Pliers’ “Friends” and the soundtrack to the Jamaican film “Dancehall Queen.”
His early development was also shaped by mentorship from Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, giving his career a direct connection to one of reggae and dancehall’s most influential production teams.
Two Mixes Through One Pop Music
Offering both the original and “Dancehall Fix” versions gives selectors and listeners different ways to approach the record while keeping the same central concept.
“Brawdah” is available now through One Pop Music on major streaming and download platforms.
