Cedric Myton Celebrates Life and Nature on New Roots Reggae Single “Blue Sky”

Kingston, Jamaica – Veteran Jamaican reggae singer Cedric Myton has joined Brazil-based DJ and producer Freedom Sounds for “Blue Sky,” an uplifting roots reggae recording featuring Jacko Bagatini.

Released September 11, 2026, through Marroquino Estudio, the song is built around gratitude for life, nature, music and the Most High.

A Positive Roots Reggae Message

Written by Myton, “Blue Sky” celebrates everyday elements that can easily be overlooked: sunshine, the natural world, movement, exercise and the ability to enjoy life.

The recording places those themes within Myton’s familiar roots-reggae framework, extending the spiritual and cultural perspective that has shaped his career.

The song was recorded at Marroquino Estudio in Canoa Quebrada, Brazil. Jacko Bagatini produced, mixed and mastered the track.

Brazil Connection Shapes the Project

The collaboration connects a veteran Jamaican roots voice with a Brazil-based reggae production team.

Freedom Sounds brings the project into a wider international context, while Myton’s presence grounds it in the Jamaican roots tradition. That exchange is also visible in the official music video, which was released the same day as the song.

Nature Takes Centre Stage in the Video

The video shows Myton relaxing, performing and spending time outdoors in locations that appear to be in Brazil.

Filmed on an iPhone 15 Pro Max and edited by Selectah Nobeat of Falamemo Studio, the visual uses natural scenery rather than elaborate production to reinforce the song’s central themes.

Myton’s career is closely associated with The Congos and the roots-reggae tradition of the 1970s, making “Blue Sky” another example of a veteran artist continuing to record while working with contemporary international collaborators.

The song and official video are available now.
