Black Girl Vitamins Kitchen Confessions podcast brings candid conversations about motherhood, mental health, hormones, aging and wellness to a new video series
A New Platform for Black Women’s Health Conversations
Black Girl Vitamins has launched Kitchen Confessions, a new video podcast built around candid conversations about the health, wellness and life experiences shaping Black women’s lives. Hosted by physician and Married to Medicine cast member Dr. Contessa Metcalfe, the series brings physicians, entrepreneurs, mothers and community leaders together to discuss issues that often intersect across medical care, family life and personal identity.
Motherhood, Mental Health, Hormones and Aging
The first season explores motherhood, mental health, aging, perimenopause, self-care and identity, combining personal experience with professional perspective. Black Girl Vitamins says the conversations are intended to address changes women may encounter at different stages of life, including subjects they may not always feel prepared to navigate.
Guests Bring Professional and Lived Experience
Season one guests include psychiatrist and Married to Medicine cast member Dr. Mimi Sanders; entrepreneur Kesha “Pea” Ward, wife of rapper 2 Chainz; and Christina “Ms. Basketball” Granville. The series premiered September 23 with an episode focused on pregnancy and motherhood. Upcoming conversations are expected to cover aging and perimenopause, PCOS, weight management and exercise, fibroids and beauty.
Building on Original Storytelling
Kitchen Confessions extends Black Girl Vitamins’ investment in storytelling around Black women’s health. The podcast follows the brand’s short film The Visit and moves that work into a recurring format where personal narratives can sit alongside medical and wellness expertise.
A Continuing Focus on Health Equity
Black Girl Vitamins launched in 2021 as a Black-owned health and wellness brand focused on nutritional needs affecting Black women. Beyond supplements, the company has supported a $100,000 scholarship fund for women pursuing healthcare careers and community initiatives focused on health and education. New Kitchen Confessions episodes will premiere through the Black Girl Vitamins YouTube channel.
