KINGSTON, JAMAICA — Jamaica is mourning the passing of Leslie Campbell, a former Government Member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister, State Minister, and Senator, whose decades of public service left a lasting impact on national development.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness confirmed Campbell’s passing in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), describing him as a dedicated public servant who contributed meaningfully to Jamaica’s political and civic life.
“It is with deep sadness that I note the passing of Leslie Campbell… a man who gave dedicated service to Jamaica,” Holness stated.
A Career Marked by Public Service
Campbell served in multiple senior roles within government, including as a Cabinet Minister and State Minister, as well as holding positions in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
According to the Prime Minister, Campbell’s approach to public service was defined by discipline, focus, and a clear sense of purpose.
“He demonstrated a steady commitment to service, approaching his responsibilities with discipline, focus, and a clear sense of purpose,” Holness said.

Holness extended condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Jamaica to Campbell’s family, friends, and colleagues.
