Razor B Bad Gal Time campaign marks a fresh promotional approach for the Canada-based dancehall artist

Canada-based Jamaican dancehall artist Razor B is preparing to release his latest single “Bad Gal Time” on May 21, 2026, with an international promotional campaign already building momentum ahead of the official launch.

The track is produced by UK-based producer Polabeatz in collaboration with Picante Music, which operates out of the Kingston 20 community of Duhaney Park.

According to the promotional team, DJs in multiple countries have already begun previewing the song through radio broadcasts and online platforms ahead of its release.

International Promotion Already Underway

Among the DJs supporting the rollout are Sir DJ Ken in the United Kingdom and Spex Da Boss in Canada, both of whom have been introducing the track to audiences before its official release date.

Born Roger Cassup in Portmore, Jamaica before later relocating to Toronto, Razor B has built a longstanding dancehall career through songs including Hot Up, Bruk Fi Mi Back, and Up In Deh.

Those releases helped establish his international presence and led to performances and tours across multiple countries.

Artist Taking New Promotional Approach

Despite his established name in dancehall, Razor B says the promotional strategy for “Bad Gal Time” is intentionally being approached with the mindset of an emerging artist.

“I’m approaching this like a new artist, who’s hungry and uncomfortable,” Razor B stated.

“Like mi nuh buss yet, so me and the team a go all out for this one in some innovative ways. Just watch and see,” he added.

The strategy reflects a broader trend within dancehall where artists increasingly rely on digital engagement, grassroots promotion, and social media-driven campaigns to reconnect with audiences globally.

Production Team Includes International and Family Support

Polabeatz, originally from St. Thomas, Jamaica and formerly associated with Epik Sound as a DJ, has expanded into music production, songwriting, and artist management.

According to the producer, his connection with Razor B dates back several years, including collaborations during tours in England.

“I’ve known Razor B a long time now, and even brought him around England while he was on tour here,” Polabeatz said. “Naturally, I had to produce a song with him and knew straightaway that ‘Bad Gal Time’ would be the perfect fit.”

The wider promotional team also includes Epik Jones of Epik Sound, Razor B’s daughter and manager Phelisha Cassup, and Kingston-based publicist Lesley Hayles.

Music Video Shot in Kingston

The official music video for “Bad Gal Time” was filmed across several locations in Kingston and is also scheduled for release on May 21.

The single will be distributed through digital streaming platforms, with pre-save and pre-order options already available online.

As dancehall continues evolving globally, Razor B’s latest release highlights the genre’s ongoing connection between Jamaica, Canada, the United Kingdom, and international diaspora audiences.
