Vershon Queen film placement marks another international milestone for the Jamaican reggae dancehall artist

Kingston, JamaicaJamaican reggae and dancehall artist Vershon continues expanding his international reach as his single “Queen” has officially secured placement in the upcoming American film SWITCH.

The film is directed by Black Deniro of Won’t Quit Entertainment, whose previous productions include Dope Girls and Jennie.

The placement represents another crossover moment for the Jamaican artist as reggae and dancehall music continue finding broader exposure through film and streaming platforms.

“Queen” Built Momentum Through International Chart Success

Following its release, “Queen” generated international attention by charting at No. 25 on the Global iTunes Reggae Chart and No. 15 on the Canada iTunes Reggae Chart.

The single’s themes centered on admiration, empowerment, beauty, and appreciation for women helped the record connect with listeners beyond the Caribbean market.

Its inclusion in SWITCH further extends the song’s reach while highlighting the growing relationship between Caribbean music and international film productions.

According to the release, the film is expected to premiere this summer before moving to major streaming platforms.

New Single “A Mother Like You” Continues Theme of Empowerment

Vershon has also continued building momentum ahead of his upcoming EP To A Queen with the release of another single titled “A Mother Like You.”

The track was strategically released on Jamaica’s Teachers’ Day and serves as a tribute not only to mothers, but also to women who nurture, educate, and mentor others.

Its official music video premiered on Mother’s Day, reinforcing the broader themes of appreciation, empowerment, and emotional storytelling connected to the project.

Upcoming EP Focused on Celebrating Women

According to A’Legends Productions, Vershon’s upcoming EP To A Queen is now scheduled for release on June 10, 2026.
