Drake’s ICEMAN Breaks His Own Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Record

TORONTO — Four months after its release, Drake’s ICEMAN is still rewriting the Toronto rapper’s chart history.

The album reached a 13th week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart dated September 5, surpassing the 12 weeks achieved by Take Care in 2011 and 2012.

That makes ICEMAN Drake’s longest-running No. 1 album on the chart, according to Billboard.

The milestone week was backed by 41,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States during the August 21-27 tracking period, according to Luminate data reported by Billboard. ICEMAN was 10,000 units ahead of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, which ranked No. 2 with 31,000 units.

ICEMAN Extends Drake’s 2026 Chart Run

ICEMAN originally reached No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in May and became Drake’s record-tying 17th leader on that ranking. Billboard notes that Future has also reached 17 No. 1 albums on the chart.

The project also produced Drake’s 31st and 32nd No. 1 songs on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart through “What Did I Miss?” and “Janice STFU.” The latter spent seven weeks at No. 1.

In its opening week, the album earned 463,000 equivalent album units in the United States, giving it the biggest week of 2026 for an R&B/hip hop album at that point, according to Billboard.

The September record specifically concerns the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums ranking. Billboard notes that the methodology of the genre chart has changed over Drake’s career, making direct comparisons across eras imperfect.
