Avaran Builds New Chapter With “Sunshine After Rain” and Forthcoming Album

Written by on October 4, 2026

Kingston Jamaica – Bahamian reggae artist Avaran is entering a new phase of a career that has stretched across nearly three decades, using his latest lovers-rock single “Sunshine After Rain” as the lead-in to a forthcoming full-length album.

The artist, who has performed across the Caribbean and Europe and shared stages with major reggae figures, is preparing “Who Shall Jah Send” while renewing his international campaign in Canada, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States.

“Sunshine After Rain” Connects Bahamas and Jamaica

Released in July 2026, “Sunshine After Rain” was recorded at Anchor Recording Studio in Kingston with an experienced Jamaican studio ensemble.

The musicians include Errol “Flabba” Holt on bass, Kirk “Kirkledove” Bennett on drums, Robbie Lyn on keyboards and Earl “Chinna” Smith on guitar, with Nikki Burt providing backing vocals.

Delroy “Phatta” Pottinger engineered the recording, while Ed Robinson handled mixing and mastering.

The single centres on love, gratitude and the sense of emotional renewal that can follow difficult periods.

Nearly Three Decades in Reggae

Avaran’s career dates to the late 1990s and has taken him well beyond his native Bahamas.

His performance history includes touring Europe with Michael Rose and appearing at the MIDEM music conference in Cannes on a showcase that included Beres Hammond and Half Pint.

Over the years he has also shared stages with artists including Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, John Holt, Freddie McGregor, Luciano, Sizzla, Capleton and Anthony B.

A Forthcoming Album Expands the Story

“Sunshine After Rain” forms part of the wider “Who Shall Jah Send” album project.

The developing album includes original reggae material spanning roots, lovers rock and conscious themes. Songs connected to the project explore faith, relationships, hope, perseverance and Caribbean life.

Avaran’s catalogue already includes albums such as “Short Rope” and “Danger Zone,” along with recordings including “Love Cry,” “Who Shall Jah Send” and “The Father’s Work,” a collaboration with Luciano.

Renewed International Focus

Hungrybelly Records is positioning the current period as a renewed international campaign rather than a career restart.

For Avaran, the aim is to introduce new listeners to a body of work built over decades while using “Sunshine After Rain” and the forthcoming album to reconnect his Bahamian roots, Jamaican recording history and international performance experience.
