Dancehall pioneer joins rising Afro-Reggae artist Sika Rlion for Festival d’Été performance
PARIS, France — Reggae and dancehall fans in France will have an opportunity to witness one of Jamaica’s most influential entertainers this summer when dancehall legend Yellowman headlines a special concert at Le Cabaret Sauvage in Paris on July 10, 2026.
The performance forms part of the venue’s Festival d’Été programming and will feature the veteran entertainer backed by The Upper Cut, delivering a selection of the songs that helped establish his place in reggae and dancehall history.
The event is being produced by Sauvage Productions and is scheduled to run from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Celebrating a Dancehall Pioneer
Widely regarded as one of the architects of modern dancehall music, Yellowman helped define an era of Jamaican music during the late 1970s and 1980s.
His distinctive voice, energetic stage presence and catalogue of influential recordings earned him international recognition and helped introduce dancehall culture to audiences around the world.
Fans attending the Paris performance can expect to hear some of the songs that shaped his career, including the classic hit Zungguzungguguzungguzeng, a track that continues to influence artists across multiple genres decades after its release.
Sika Rlion Represents a New Generation
Joining Yellowman on the bill will be rising Afro-Reggae artist Sika Rlion from Réunion Island.
Known for blending reggae, trap, R&B and traditional Maloya influences, Sika Rlion has been building a reputation for a distinctive musical style that bridges Caribbean, African and Indian Ocean musical traditions.
Her bilingual performances in French and Creole have attracted growing attention throughout Francophone music markets and among fans seeking fresh interpretations of reggae-inspired sounds.
For the Festival d’Été event, she is scheduled to deliver a special DJ set.
Reggae’s Continued Influence in France
France remains one of reggae music’s strongest international markets, regularly hosting major festivals, concerts and cultural events featuring artists from Jamaica and around the world.
The pairing of Yellowman and Sika Rlion highlights reggae’s ability to connect generations of performers while showcasing the genre’s continuing evolution.
Organizers say the evening will celebrate both the roots of dancehall culture and the future directions of reggae-inspired music.
