HARARE, ZIMBABWE – Zimbabwe has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international diplomacy and expanding bilateral cooperation after President Emmerson Mnangagwa formally received Letters of Credence from newly appointed ambassadors representing the State of Qatar, the Republic of Panama, and the Kingdom of Lesotho.
The ceremony took place at State House in Harare on Thursday morning and marked the official accreditation of the diplomats to Zimbabwe.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), President Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe remains committed to maintaining positive diplomatic relations globally.
“Zimbabwe remains resolute in its diplomatic endeavour to maintain friendly relations with all nations and harbour enmity with none,” Mnangagwa stated.
Expanding Bilateral Cooperation
The President said Zimbabwe looks forward to deepening bilateral relations with the three nations while exploring opportunities for economic growth and international collaboration.
“We extend a warm welcome to our new diplomatic partners and anticipate deepening bilateral ties, facilitating new economic investments, and fortifying cooperation on global platforms,” he added.

Focus on International Partnerships
Letters of Credence ceremonies formally recognize ambassadors and allow them to begin official diplomatic duties within a host country.
The inclusion of representatives from Qatar, Panama, and Lesotho reflects Zimbabwe’s continued outreach to partners across the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa.
Mnangagwa emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation and shared development goals.
“Collectively, we will forge mutually beneficial pathways for our nations,” the President said.
Zimbabwe’s Global Diplomatic Strategy
Zimbabwe has increasingly focused on rebuilding and expanding international partnerships through trade, diplomacy, and investment initiatives.
The latest diplomatic appointments are expected to support future discussions involving commerce, regional cooperation, and multilateral engagement on global issues.
